Augusta Houseboats on the Blackwood River. An iconic destination in Australia's South West, Margaret River region. Book your next floating eco-adventure on board with us today.
Blackwood River Houseboats are well appointed for family and friends groups to enjoy splendid isolation. Departing from West Bay, Augusta, the houseboats travel through the Hardy Inlet to explore a pristine wilderness. Along the way are bush walks, secret fishing spots, a bird sanctuary, unique wildflowers, river dolphins, Molloy Island and over 25 kilometres of National Park protected by a river reserve. Our base and houseboats have minimal footprint and operate completely off grid. Guests can cruise in comfort, knowing they are leaving no trace.
Our business is a clean & green operation with minimal footprint. We are situated on Wadandi Boodja in Australia's South West. The Blackwood River is Western Australia's longest river and our off grid base of operation is surrounded by National Park. This unique part of Western Australia is a biodiversity hotspot, with many endemic species.
Augusta boasts some of the best kitesurfing in the world. If boating and kiting is your thing, you have the opportunity to launch your kite from your houseboat to the river mouth.
Stand up paddle boarding is a great way to explore the Blackwood River and silently watch and fish. It's also a great way to get your core fit and strong!
The Blackwood River is a biodiversity hotspot, making it the perfect place to relax and explore. Take a walk along the banks, and discover the different orchid varieties in Spring or watch the many different types of birds which flock to the area. Whale watching is a popular winter activity as the giants of the ocean make their annual migration.
